Churches Together in Cosham (Portsmouth)

Churches Together in Cosham is a local group bringing together churches across different denominations in the Cosham area of Portsmouth. We meet to pray together and to develop projects together which will benefit our local community. We are currently working together with other organisations in the Portsmouth area to increase the support available to refugees and asylum seekers in our city.

Our events move around the different churches in Cosham. We hold one AGM and planning meeting every year in September, and then work in smaller groups on specific projects. We also celebrate the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity every year in January, with a prayer breakfast and a united service in one of our local churches. At major Christian festivals – Christmas, Easter and Pentecost – we often hold events in our local High Street to reach out to our local community.

We are currently collecting items needed by refugees and asylum seekers in the Portsmouth area, which will be distributed through Portsmouth Food BankĀ (North End Branch) and Friends Without Borders.
