Global Climate Strike

February 14 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

A disastrous election. Another apathetic and sluggish UN climate summit. Australia is burning with horrifying consequences. Indonesia is afflicted by floods. Ocean temperatures reached a record high in 2019.

Parliament declared a Climate and Ecological Emergency but at least twenty one airports have plans to expand. Local councils have also declared emergencies.

Empty words.

The President of the UN General Assembly, Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, declared “inaction will put at risk all life on Earth as we know it.”

As Greta Thunberg rightly says, while we who have taken to the streets have propelled climate breakdown into the agenda, there’s still so much to do.

At the end of this year, the most important gathering on climate change since the Paris agreement was signed in 2015, is happening in Glasgow (COP26).

We need to start 2020 strong and build the pressure for urgent and ambitious action on climate – NOW. This is a major crossroads in the battle against global climate change.

Join us at our next strike on 14th February! Whether you are school pupils, uni students, trade union members, council employees, MPs, Mums, Dads and Grandparents, we need you! We need all walks of life, to join together to demand the UK government stops abdicating their responsibility. So let’s build on our success and ramp the pressure up!

If you’d like to run a workshop or a stall, or perform some poetry / music / spoken word etc please get in touch.

There will also be an open mic as usual: everyone is welcome 💚🌎🙌🏻
